The Anne Shirley anime, announced

Japanese television channel NHK has announced the production of the Anne Shirley anime by Answer Studio (Tower of God Season 2).

The Anne Shirley anime series is scheduled for April 2025 in Japan. It is a new adaptation of the novel Anne of Green Gables by Lucy Maud Montgomery released in 1908. More information soon.

Synopsis – Anne Shirley

We follow the daily life of Anne Shirley, a young orphan with a difficult past, mistakenly sent to Matthew and Marilla Cuthbert, a brother and sister living in Avonlea.

Anne, full of fantasy and with an overflowing imagination, brings joy to their daily lives despite her insecurities. Reluctant at first, Marilla decides to keep her on the farm, influenced by Matthew's gentleness.

Anne gradually adapts, befriends Diana Barry, dreams of adventure, and becomes the fierce rival of Gilbert Blythe, with whom she develops a complex and poignant relationship. The story explores his joys, his failures, and the beauty of finally finding a place to belong, all with great tenderness and moments of pure wonder.
