In Ameku Takao's Detective Karte, we delve into the daily life of Tenshikai General Hospital in Tokyo, a major regional medical facility with more than 600 beds. Nurse Yuu Kojima finds himself facing the directors of each department of this hospital, with his boss, the director of the General Diagnosis Department, Takao Ameku, at his side.

Takao is an imposing figure in the industry despite his small stature, slightly oversized lab outfit, and youthful appearance. His big, sparkling eyes and innocent smile mask an incredibly sharp mind. For the past five months, Yuu has witnessed Takao's prowess in solving mysteries, ranging from complex medical cases to sordid crimes and paranormal phenomena. Endowed with an above-average intelligence and endless curiosity, Takao has always been able to overcome these puzzles.

However, today, their future at the hospital is threatened: if the current mystery is not solved, the General Diagnostics Department may be dismantled and Yuu Kojima may have to leave the hospital.

The light novel Ameku Takao no Suiri Karte by CHINEN Mikito (author) & Noizi Ito (illustrations) debuted in 2014 at Shinchosha Editions and has a total of 13 volumes bound in Japan.

CHINEN Mikito studied medicine before becoming a doctor in a hospital. It was following his professional experience and his passion for literature that he began writing his novel Ameku Takao no Suiri Karte in 2013.
