The anime series Rurouni Kenshin: Meiji Kenkaku Romantan (24 episodes) is scheduled for release in July 2023 in Japan. And the sequel titled Rurouni Kenshin: Meiji Kenkaku Romantan – Kyoto Douran (24 episodes) is scheduled for October 2024. More information coming soon.

Synopsis of the anime Rurouni Kenshin: Meiji Kenkaku Romantan:
The story takes place in 1878 in Tokyo. Kenshin Himura, a former assassin nicknamed Battosai during the Bakumatsu era (end of the shogunate), hides a heavy past...
Having become a vagabond since the establishment of the Meiji era, he travels the country with his inverted sword, with the desire to stop killing. He meets a young girl who is trying to protect her dojo, Kaoru Kamiya, and ends up moving in with her after helping her.
However, Kenshin's past continues to haunt him...
