Synopsis du manga Kowloon Generic Romance :

In the distant future, individuals nostalgic for the old way of life take refuge in the Walled City of Kowloon, a slum that serves as a haven for those who miss the Hong Kong of yesteryear.

Reiko Kujirai, a real estate agent, aspires to new and exciting places in the area. Conversely, his only colleague, Hajime Kudou, is seduced by the nostalgia evoked by the city and is put off by everything modern that crosses its walls. Despite their differences of opinion and constant arguments over the most mundane topics, the two colleagues often find themselves enjoying each other's company.

One day, following a joke that goes wrong, Hajime makes an unexpected advance to Reiko, before quickly apologizing for his gesture. Perplexed by his behavior, Reiko begins to investigate for possible explanations, and discovers a past she has no memory of.
