Synopsis – The Apothecary's Notebooks

In the imperial capital, Mao Mao, a 17-year-old apothecary, finds herself abruptly torn from her ordinary life to be sold as a servant in the mysterious and dangerous precincts of the imperial palace. Trained since childhood in the slums of the city, she has unparalleled knowledge of medicine and a keen sense of observation, assets that she must hide to survive in this world of plots and intrigues.

When suspicious deaths of newborn princes caused panic at court, Mao Mao could not suppress his inquisitive nature and eventually attracted the attention of Jinshi, a high-ranking official with haunting features. Detecting her exceptional talent, he appointed her as the personal taster of one of the emperor's favorites, thus placing her at the heart of the palace's machinations. From then on, every gesture and every word could be fatal for Mao Mao, who had to use all his intelligence to avoid the traps of the court.
