The Devil May Cry anime, in video teaser

Netflix recently unveiled a teaser for the Devil May Cry anime based on CAPCOM's popular video game franchise.

The animated series Devil May Cry is scheduled for April 2025 streaming on Netflix. Studio Mir (Voltron: Legendary Defender) is in charge of the project.

Synopsis – Devil May Cry

Dante, a charismatic demon hunter, runs a specialized facility called "Devil May Cry." The son of a human and a powerful demon, Dante possesses demonic powers that allow him to take on missions that others would consider impossible. His daily life is punctuated by missions to eliminate the creatures of hell that threaten the world.

Throughout his adventures, Dante is accompanied by Trish, a demon who bears an uncanny resemblance to his late mother, and Lady, a human demon hunter with a personal score to settle with these infernal creatures.

Together, they face formidable opponents, including Vergil, Dante's twin brother, whose unwavering ambition to surpass their father and unlock the demon's ultimate power often leads to fraticidal confrontations.

The Devil May Cry franchise has already inspired a 12-episode animated series by the Madhouse studio in 2007 in Japan.

The game's latest installment, Devil May Cry 5, launched in March 2019 for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC, was also released as a special edition for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X in 2020.
