The game Sakuna: Of Rice and Ruin (Tensui no Sakuna-hime) developed by Edelweiss and published by Marvelous is going to be adapted into an anime!

The anime series Sakuna: Of Rice and Ruin is scheduled for release in 2024 in Japan. The PA Works studio (Nanare Hananare, Maquia: When the Promised Flower Blooms, Fairy Gone) is in charge of the project. More information coming soon.

Synopsis – Sakuna: Of Rice and Ruin:

In Sakuna: Of Rice and Ruin, we follow the story of Sakuna, a temperamental goddess specializing in harvests, who finds herself banished from her comfortable celestial realm. His exile brings him to a mysterious and dangerous island, infested with demons. The daughter of a warrior god and a harvest goddess, Sakuna must use all her skills to survive in this hostile environment.

On this island named Hinoe, she is not alone. She is accompanied by Tama, her faithful guardian, as well as a group of humans rejected by their community. These companions in misfortune must work together to overcome the many challenges that the island has in store for them.

The game focuses on two major aspects: the fight against the various evil creatures that inhabit the island, and agriculture, especially the cultivation of rice, which is the source of Sakuna's power.
