In Sakuna: Of Rice and Ruin, we follow the story of Sakuna, a temperamental harvest goddess who finds herself banished from her comfortable celestial realm. Daughter of a warrior god and a harvest goddess, Sakuna must use all her skills to survive in this hostile environment.

On this island called Hinoe, she is not alone. She is accompanied by Tama, her faithful guardian, as well as a group of humans rejected by their community. These companions in misfortune must work together to overcome the many challenges that the island has in store for them.

The game focuses on two major aspects: the fight against the various evil creatures that inhabit the island, and agriculture, including rice farming, which is the source of Sakuna's power.
