Synopsis – The Summer Hikaru Died

Yoshiki and Hikaru are two teenage boys living in a small rural town in Japan. Despite their opposing personalities and different hobbies, they maintain a close and sincere friendship. However, on a winter's day, everything changes when Hikaru is fatally injured while hiking alone in the mountains.

Before succumbing to his wounds, a strange and mysterious being discovers him. This eldritch entity consumes him, taking not only his physical appearance but also his feelings and memories, though it remains a separate entity.

Yoshiki quickly realizes that this "Hikaru" is not quite the same anymore. Despite his doubts, he wants to maintain their friendship. However, the alien nature of this new "Hikaru", combined with the presence of other eldritch beings and hunters stalking these creatures, could make their friendship impossible to preserve.

Yoshiki finds himself faced with challenges that test the limits of his friendship and understanding, while unravelling the dark mysteries that lurk within the eldritch.
