The Tousouchuu Great Mission anime, in teaser video

Toei Animation has revealed the production of the anime Tousouchuu Great Mission (Run For Money: The Great Mission)!

The anime series Run For Money: The Great Mission (49 episodes) is scheduled for release in April 2023 in Japan. It is an adaptation of the show Run For Money Tousouchuu, a Japanese game show that has been broadcast as a series special on Fuji TV since 2004. More information coming soon.

Rules of the game of the show Run For Money Tousouchuu:

At the start of each game, competitors, in search of a growing prize pool, are freed up to move around a defined game area and must remain inside the area for the duration of the game. The show then freed up Hunters in the area, paid agents whose sole purpose was to hunt and tag competitors. If a player is tagged by a hunter, they are eliminated from the game. Hunters walk around the play area and will only start running if they spot a player, and breaking the line of sight for a few seconds will cause them to abandon the chase.

Each episode gives players various missions to complete during the game, each of which comes with a reward for successfully completing it on time and/or a penalty for not doing so. Missions vary greatly from episode to episode.

The success of Fuji TV's show Run For Money Tousouchuu prompted Netflix to offer an adaptation of it called Run for the Money with Japanese personalities.
