Publisher Kodansha has revealed the anime adaptation of the manga Egao no Taenai Shokuba desu (A Smile in an Unbearable Workplace) by Kuzushiro (Inugami-san to Nekoyama-san)!

The anime series Egao no Taenai Shokuba desu (A Smile in an Unbearable Workplace) is scheduled for release in 2025 in Japan. Studio Voil (Acro Trip) is in charge of the project. More information coming soon.

Egao no Taenai Shokuba desu immerses us in the fast-paced and often ruthless world of the shoujo manga industry.

We follow Nana Futami, a young and talented shoujo manga artist, who is passionately dedicated to her art. Every day, she works tirelessly, supported by two key figures: Kaede Satou, her experienced and older editor, and Mizuki Hazama, her dedicated assistant.

Nana, although talented and determined, is not immune to the vagaries and pressures of the manga world. She sometimes finds herself caught up in intense daydreams and delusions of grandeur, symptoms of an "occupational disease" that is humorously self-diagnosed.
