In the animated film City Hunter: Angel Dust, Ryo Saeba (Nicky Larson) is a well-known private detective on the busy streets of Tokyo. Alongside his dynamic partner Kaori (Laura), he solves the thorniest cases with flying colors. When a mysterious woman named Angie contacts them for a seemingly innocuous mission; find his lost cat; Ryo Saeba and Kaori accept without hesitation, attracted by Angie's generous reward and undeniable charm.
Meanwhile, Saeko Nogami (Helen), a lieutenant in the Tokyo police, leads a parallel investigation into Angel Dust, an advanced, secretive technology that has the power to turn ordinary soldiers into superhumans. Their investigation takes an unexpected turn when the notorious trio of thieves, the Cat's Eye, also come into play.
While the two cases seem to intersect in unexpected ways, Ryo Saeba discovers that there is a deep connection between them. What started as a simple search for a cat turns into a thrilling adventure, plunging Ryo and his companions into the heart of an epic battle that will lead them to explore the shadows of Ryo Saeba's past.

A new manga edition City Hunter XYZ Edition (12 volumes) by Tsukasa Hojo was released in July 2015 in Japan.
The spinoff titled Angel Heart debuted in 2001 with Shinchosha Publishing and has a total of 33 volumes in Japan.
Then a second season entitled Angel Heart – 2nd Season began in 2010 with Tokuma Shoten and has a total of 16 volumes.
