This 25-minute ONA (Original Net Anime) is scheduled for January 21, 2024 on Netflix under the name Monsters: Hell of the Flying Dragon with 103 Passions. It is the adaptation of the one-shot manga Monsters: Ippaku Sanjou Hiryuu Jigoku by Eiichiro Oda (One Piece) that he released when he was 19 years old (in 1994).

The samurai Ryuma (the ancestor of Roronoa Zoro) faces a terrifying threat: a fearsome dragon that sows destruction and desolation. Living in a universe where danger and chaos reign supreme, Ryuma embarks on a daring quest to defeat this apocalyptic dragon.
Armed with his courage and samurai skills, Ryuma embarks on a perilous journey that will take him through ravaged lands and hostile environments. Throughout his journey, he faces a series of obstacles and challenges that test his strength, intelligence, and willpower. Each confrontation with the dragon's forces reveals to him the relentless nature of his enemy and the difficulty of his mission.

Monsters: The Samurai and the Dragon delves into the distant past of Wanokuni, the land of the dragon-tormented samurai in the One Piece series. In One Piece, Shimotsuki Ryuma is nicknamed the God of the Sword, who gained much of his fame after allegedly killing a fearsome dragon.
Additionally, the Monsters: Samurai and the Dragon anime could provide answers to long-standing questions in the One Piece universe, potentially making connections to the series' main plot.
