The Sanda manga adapted into anime

The manga Sanda by ITAGAKI Paru (BEASTARS) is getting an anime adaptation!

Synopsis – Sanda:

In a futuristic Japan in 2080, the birth rate is in an alarming decline. To counter this trend, the government has put in place strict control policies for minors, which include the arrangement of marital partners from birth, restrictions on children from sleeping to slow their development, and the requirement to use the toilet separately from adults. In this society, the social status of young people is also higher than that of adults.

In this context, Santa Claus has long been sealed because of a curse, which has led society to believe that Santa Claus has disappeared and to consider Christmas as an ancient custom or a fictional legend.

The plot begins on December 25, a snowy day, when the seal of Sanda Kazushige, a middle school student, is broken by his classmate Fuyumura Shiori, transforming him into a figure resembling that of Santa Claus.
Sanda discovers that he can return to his college appearance by eating jellybean candy, or transform into Santa Claus by wearing red.

Fuyumura lifted the seal in the hopes that Sanda would help him find their missing classmate, Ono Ichie, and also to remind society of the existence and meaning of Christmas.
