A new Magic Knight Rayearth anime, announced

CLAMP's famous Magic Knight Rayearth manga is getting a new anime adaptation!

It should be an animated series. This project celebrates 30 years of the Magic Knight Rayearth franchise. More information soon.

And a first teaser poster has been unveiled.

Synopsis:

Magic Knight Rayearth follows the epic adventure of three ordinary high school girls, Hikaru Shidou, Umi Ryuuzaki, and Fuu Hououji, transported to the fantasy world of Cephiro. In this world, reality is shaped by the will of its inhabitants, and peace is maintained by the Pillar, a person whose strong will helps stabilize the entire universe through his prayers.

Upon arrival, the girls learn that the Emerald Princess, the current Pillar of Cephiro, is a prisoner of the mighty Zagato. They become the Magic Knight Rayearth, tasked with saving Emerald. However, when they achieve their goal, they discover that Emerald has actually summoned the Magic Knight Rayearth to end her own life...
